OMAHA - Larry R. Mace, 57, of Missouri Valley, died March 20 at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha.
He was born Nov. 14, 1945, in Council Bluffs to Robert R. and Claire Yager Mace. He graduated from Nebraska Christian School in Central City, Neb. After graduation he attended Pillsbury Bible College in Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. After being discharged from the Army, he worked as an ironworker with the International Brotherhood of Bridge and Structural Ironworkers Union Local 21 of Omaha where he worked until his retirement.
During his leisure time, he enjoyed his guns, hunting and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a brother, Gary L. Mace.
He is survived by a son, Larry Mace Jr. of Omaha; three daughters, Ruth and her husband, Chris Brooks, of Missouri Valley, Kim and her husband, Kirk Goggans, of Atlanta, and Michele Evans of Denver; his parents, Robert and Claire Mace of Blair, Neb.; grandchildren, Courtney and Caleb Brooks, Kirk and Anzlet Goggan; aunts and uncles.
The funeral will be at noon Monday, at Hennessey-Aman Chapel in Missouri Valley. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
