AVOCA - The funeral for Gale Marshall, 78, of rural Shelby will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Pauley Knutson Funeral Chapel in Avoca with the Rev. Denny Peterson officiating.

Mr. Marshall died March 4 at home.

He was born in rural Shelby. He graduated in 1941 from Shelby High School. He owned his own electrical business for many years before retiring. He also farmed, doing some custom farming in the '50s and '60s.

Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, on March 10, 1994. They were married 42 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie Coenen, and husband, Darrell, of Harlan; one son, Gregg Marshall, and wife, Lisa, of Shelby; one brother, Ronald Marshall, and wife, Irene, of Mountain Grove, Mo.; two grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shelby Cemetery.
