Betty J. Clark

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - Betty Jean Clark, 74, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died March 3 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Council Bluffs to Carl William Smith and Eva Leona Dawson Kemp Smith. She grew up and attended schools in Council Bluffs, attending Thomas Jefferson High School. She married Donald J. Clark in Nebraska City, Neb., on June 22, 1965. She was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church, and a former member of the First Church of the Nazarene, both in Idaho Falls. She enjoyed reading, listening to Bill Gaither Christian music, and she loved children, working on the computer and attending church and the people there.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Leroy Smith, and a sister, Margaret Mae Moore.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Dale Morehouse, of Tempe, Ariz.; a daughter, Carole Montgomery, of Mesquite, Texas; a brother, Carl William Smith, of Omaha; two sisters, Rose White of Council Bluffs and Viola Foster of Benton Harbor, Mich.; five grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m Thursday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 2345 West Broadway. The family will visit with friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery in Council Bluffs. Local arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID 83402-4092.
