In Memory: Sedona M. Honz

Mass of Christian burial for Sedona M. (Hoffmann) Honz, 97, of Missouri Valley was held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley with Father Bob Harris officiating.

Mrs. Honz died November 13 at the Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley. She was born August 18, 1904, in Panama to Freed and Susanna (Winger) Hoffmann. She farmed with her husband and worked as a teacher and nurse at the University Hospital in Omaha until her retirement. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and active as a 4-H leader and a member of the Altar Society, Prayer Group, and Legion of Mary and Black Rosary.

Mrs. Honz was preceded in death by her husband, Clem, on February 1, 1998.

Survivors include three daughters, Rita Schneckloth of Shelby, Sister Agnes Honz B.S.B. of Atchison, Kansas, and Doris Jensen of Missouri Valley; four sons, Donald and wife, Rita, and Edward and wife, Dorothy, both of Omaha, Wayne and wife, Betty, of Missouri Valley and Dennis of LeMars; one brother, Leonard Hoffman, of Dunlap; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

A rosary was held at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Burial was in 3t. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Panama, followed by lunch and fellowship at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley.
