LaVere A. Wager

LaVere A. Wager, 94, of Council Bluffs died Feb. 27 at Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

Mr. Wager was born on Sept. 27, 1908, in Honey Creek to Isidor and Agnes (Moss) Wager. He was a resident of Council Bluffs since 1941. Prior to that, he lived in Honey Creek. He was employed as a laborer and safety equipment manager for ASARCO in Omaha for 20 years before retiring in 1972.

He and his wife, Mary Ann (Pelser), were married for 48 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church.

Survivors include his wife; one sister, Mary Wager of Omaha; one brother, Stanley of Westchester, Ill.; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. John O. Bertogli officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with a lunch following in St. Patrick's Church Hall.

Memorials may be given to the church.
