Betty L. Leazenby

The funeral for Betty L. (Barcus) Leazenby, 65, of Council Bluffs will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with Bishop Mark Peterson of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and her son, Jeffrey L. Leazenby, Elder at Community of Christ Church, co-officiating.

She died Feb. 26 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

She was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Council Bluffs to Walter H. and Dorothy G. (Collins) Barcus. She was a 1956 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. She was a laboratory technician at Mercy Hospital for 28 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Rae Stawowczyk, and husband, William F, of Council Bluffs; sons, Jeffrey L. Leazenby and wife, Billie, of Bellevue, Neb., David W. Leazenby and wife, Lisa, of Crescent; nine grandchildren, William Stawowczyk II, Paul Stawowczyk; Laura Leazenby; Kristin Leazenby; Jessica Leazenby; Tera Leazenby; Steven Leazenby, Joshua Leazenby, all of Council Bluffs, and Daniel Leazenby of Bellevue, Neb.; brother, Walter C. Barcus, and wife, Judy, of Council Bluffs; nephews, James Barcus and Michael Barcus, both of Council Bluffs.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, followed by a luncheon and fellowship at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2226 Ave. I.

Memorials may be offered to a favorite charity.
