Jerome W. Floerchinger, age 95, of Council Bluffs, died September 1, 2009 at Woodland Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Neola, Iowa on April 21, 1914 to the late John W. and Catherine (Schickoufsky) Floerchinger. Jerome served his country during World War II in the United States Army.
After 35 years he retired from the Union Pacific Rail Road in 1975. He was a charter member of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #10805, Bishop Drumm General Assembly and the Neola American Legion Post #330.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Longmeyer) Floerchinger; 5 brothers, Cliff, Gene, Harold, LeRoy and John Floerchinger.

Jerome is survived by- his sister, Kathryn Carroll: brother and sister-in-law, Phil an Rosalie Floerchinger; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews

Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church 3304 4th Avenue in Council Bluffs.

Interment was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites tendered by the Neola American Legion Post #330.
