Fred N. Davis, son of Rev. J. F. Davis of Churdan, Iowa, was born in Carson, Iowa, Dec. 21, 1898. He died May 27, 1918 in France.
He enlisted from Lorimor, then the family home, on April 16, 1917. His last letter home was received on the day of his death and across it, Captain Aikins had written "Both of your boys are doing fine." As his father writes, "Fred was faithful unto death, to himself, his organization and to God."
