In Memory: Jerome P. Christiansen

Jerome P. Christiansen , 71, of Council Bluffs died September 4 at Jennie Edmomdson Hospital.

He was born in Neola to William and Rose Ann (Good) Christiansen. He graduated from St. Joseph School in 1947. He was manager of Wig-Wam Grocery Store in Council Bluffs and owned J.C. Supermarket in Underwood from 1963 to 1979, T. C. Supermarket in Council Bluffs from 1979 to 1984 and worked at Peoples True Value. He was a member of Holy Family Church, the Creighton University Jay Backer Club and Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Christiansen and his wife, Beverly, were married 50 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Lori Davidson and husband, Mark, of Blair, Nebraska, Leslie Rasmussen and husband, Randy, of Conway, Arkansas, and Lynne Christiansen and husband, Tom Williams, of Oakland, California; two sons, Dennis and wife, Toni, and Terry, all of Council Bluffs; a sister, Ione Donnelly, of Coggon; a brother, Joe, and wife, Ruby, of Neola; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A wake service was held Tuesday evening at Holy Family Church, followed by visitation with the family.

Funeral Mass was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Ken Gross officiating.

Burial was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, followed by a lunch at Holy Family Church. Beem-Belford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to Holy Family Church or St. Albert Schools.
