In Memory: John Stange Jr.

Funeral for John "Detlef' Stange, Jr., 91, a resident of Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, was held Monday at 11 a.m. at Zion Congregational Church in Treynor with Ron Wooten-Green, chaplain of Hospice Preferred Choice, officiating.

Mr. Stange died August 3 at Risen Son Christian Village.

He was born in Treynor and lived in Carson, Treynor and McClelland before moving to Risen Son Christian Village in 1991. He was a farmer, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Zion Congregational Church.

Mr. Stange was preceded in death by his wife, Ardith L. (Jones), in 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Stange, of Madison, Wisconsin; a brother, Herman "Pete," of Treynor; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Burial was in the Zion Congregational Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the church.
