In Memory: Glen Moffatt
Funeral for Glen H. "Sam" Moffatt, 88, of Lander, Wyoming, was held Friday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home in Lander with the Rev. Tom Lane officiating.
Mr. Moffatt died July 31 at Lander Valley Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born January 5, 1912, in Neola to Edward and Bertha (Handbury) Moffatt and graduated from high school in 1931. He worked for Petersen Trucking Co. in Pinedale, Wyoming, then returned to Neola. He and his wife farmed for 20 years and moved to Lander in 1957. He was a police officer for four years, managed the city parks and went to work for the U.S. Steel Atlantic City Ore Mine in 1963. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 2317 of Lander and the United Methodist Church.
Mr. Moffatt and his wife, Bea, were married November 10, 1937.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Jeanie Penner, of Denver, a son, Bill, and wife, Chris, of Green River, Wyoming; a sister, Irene Thomas, of Elk Horn; a brother, Jack, and wife, Clem, of Neola; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Lander.
