In Memory: Dean Robinson

Funeral for Dean Robinson, 85, a resident of Elmcrest Retirement Center in Harlan, was held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Knutson Funeral Chapel in Avoca with Pastor Brian Sherman officiating.

Mr. Robinson died August 3 at Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan.

He was born in Shelby and attended Shelby High School. He was a farmer and self-employed electrician. He raised Brown Swiss cattle and operated a Grade A Dairy for many years. He was a member of the Shelby United Methodist Church.

Mr. Robinson and his wife Betty were married 24 years.

Dean was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Nielsen.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Darlene Boerger and husband, Wall of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Ire Bertsch and husband, Daniel, Indianola; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nephews

Visitation with the family was held Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in the Shelby Cemetery.
