In Memory: Helen G. Main

Helen G. Main, 93, of Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, died September 21, 2000 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. She had lived in Treynor since 1975.

Helen was born in Kewanee, Illinois and graduated from Wapello High School in 1926. She was a homemaker and member of Fremont Methodist Church in Fremont, Iowa.

Her husband, Philip Main, died in 1974.

Survivors include her three daughters, Barbara and her husband Art Rath of Treynor, Denelda and her husband Donald Provow of Naperville, Illinois, and Phyllis Main Freeborn of Montezuma; eleven grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family and a prayer service, with Chaplain Paul Crane of Risen Son Christian Village, were held Friday evening, September 22 at Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs.

The Rev. Julie Wehner of Cedar-Fremont United Methodist Churches officiated at the funeral service Saturday afternoon, September 23, at Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont-Iowa. Burial was in the Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery South at Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
