Memory: Joseph Caruso

Joseph S. Caruso, 73 of Council Bluffs died December 14 at Southwest Iowa medical Center.

He was a native and lifetime resident of Council Bluffs. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 11 and worked for Jones Truck Lines for 39 years.

He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 737.

Mr. Caruso and his wife, Charlene "Scottie," had been married for 53 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Linda Lawless of Council Bluffs and Colleen Rolfe and husband, Randy, of Council Bluffs; two sons, Steve and wife, Sue, of Treynor and Michael and wife, Janice, of South Monmouth, Maine; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. .

Visitation with the family was held Monday evening at McCurdy Funeral Home. Funeral was held Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Falk officiating. Burial was at Ridgewood Cemetery. Military rites were performed by American Legion Rainbow Post No. 2.
