In Memory: Wesley J.F. Stamp, Sr.

Wesley J.F. Stamp, Sr., 83, of Omaha died September 2, 2000 at Clarkson Hospital.

He was born December 10, 1916 at Persia, Iowa, the son of Herman and Dora Martens Stamp.

He was a World War II veteran, serving 1942-1945. He was a farmer and worked as a painter for the Omaha Housing Authority. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Augusta (Leinen) of Omaha; sons Wesley, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska and Phillip of Gretna, Nebraska; daughters Barbara and her husband Dennis Stevens of Omaha, Elizabeth Stamp of Aurora, Colorado, Lori Stamp of Olathe, Kansas and Marilyn and her husband Michael Barker of Fairfax, Virginia; brother Alden and his wife Ella of Persia; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday afternoon followed by a wake service at Westcenter Chapel in Omaha.

Funeral service was held Tuesday morning at Christ The King Catholic Church in Omaha, with the Rev. John L. Pietramale officiating. Burial was at the Calvary Mausoleum with full military honors by Neola American Legion Post 330.

Memorials may be offered to Mt. Michael Benedictine High School, Catholic Charities, or Christ The King Educational Trust.
