In Memory: Raymond Doolittle

Raymond Doolittle, 70, of Council Bluffs died February 9 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born in Milo and lived in Des Moines before moving to Council Bluffs in 1982. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a glass glazier for 40 years. He worked in the Des Moines and Omaha areas and most recently for P.P.G. Industries, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Glass Glaziers Union Local No. 578.

Mr. Doolittle and his wife, Marilyn, were married 18 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters, Georgene (Kelsen) Rodenburg and husband, Kelby, of McClelland, Carol (Kelsen) Dmytriw and husband, Michael, Barbara (Kelsen) Smith and husband, Randy, all of Council Bluffs, and Katherine (Kelsen) Bandomer and husband, Michael, of Arlington, Texas; a son, John, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; two sisters, Beverly Kauzlorich and husband, Ray, of Indianola and Dorothy Holms and husband, Earl, of Des Moines; a brother, Charles, of Shandon, California; and eight grandsons.

Visitation with the family was held Friday evening at Beem Belford Funeral Home. Funeral was held Saturday morning at Epworth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Heath, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 2.

Memorials may be offered to Epworth United Methodist Church.
