In Memory: Helen M. Kurmel

Helen Marie Kurmel, 69, of Omaha died March 12.

She was a member of the Bryan Area Mothersingers, South Omaha Sokolice, the South High School Class of 1948 reunion committee and the River City Czech Singers, was secretary of Lodge Hvezda Svobody No. 45 and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Social Settlement Association.

She was a state life member of the PTA and past president of Ashland Park PTA. She sang in the Holy Ghost Church choir and was a founding member of Holy Ghost Child Care Center.

Survivors include her husband, George M.; two daughters, Janet L. Kurmel of Omaha and Susan M. Marbach and husband Ricky N, of San Antonio; two sons, Thomas D. and wife Sandra J, of Alexandria, Virginia and Daniel G. and wife Colleen A. of Omaha; a sister, Jern Underwood of McClelland; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family and a rosary were held Tuesday evening at Holy Ghost church in Omaha. Funeral Mass was to be Wednesday at 11 A.M.. at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Holy Ghost Child Care Center or Sokol South Omaha Czech Museum.
