Memory: Joseph Pribyl
(November 15, 1920 - April 27, 2000)

Funeral for Joseph M. Pribyl, 79, of Council Bluffs was held Monday at 10 A.M. at Queen of Apostles Church with the Rev. Bill Doan officiating. Burial, with military honors presented by VFW Post #737, was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Pribyl died April 27 at his residence.

He was born in Omaha and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during W.W.II. He retired with 38 of service with the Union Pacific Railroad, where he was a sheet metal worker and pipe fitter.

Mr. Pribyl was a member of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church. He had volunteered at Mercy Hospital since 1981 and also at Risen Son Christian Village. He was an Eucharistic minister at Risen Son.

Mr. Pribyl was preceded in by his wife, Darlene, in 1979.

Survivors include five daughters, Carol Perlberg, Gloria Kennedy and Julia Bates and husband, Eddie, all of Council Bluffs, Marcia Madden and husband Karl, of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska and Laura Wolff and husband, John, of Underwood; three sons, John and wife, Connie and Michael and wife, LuAnn, all of Council Bluffs and Mark and wife, Patricia of Crescent; three sisters, Virginia Gwin of Bullhead, Arizona, Margaret Rostermundt and husband, Robert, of Wild Rose, Wisconsin and Lucille Johnston and husband, Bill, of Mission, Texas; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday evening at Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, with a rosary recited at 7:30 P.M.

Memorials may be offered to Queen of Apostles Church or Risen Son Christian Village.
