In Memory: Charles R. Harriman

Charles R. Harriman, 78, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska died September 29 at the Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth.

Mr. Harriman was born in Council Bluffs and was a 1941 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 11 and was a member of American Legion Rainbow Post No. 2. He was a car man for the Union Pacific Railroad for 25 years before retiring in 1984. He also farmed in rural Council Bluffs for 20 years.

He was a member of Hazel Dell United Methodist Church. He also was a member of Excelsior Lodge No. 259, Beehive Masonic Lodge in Omaha and Scottish Rite and Tangier Shrine.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lavon, of Plattsmouth and two grandchildren.

Visitation was Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Weesner' of Salem United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery with graveside military honors by American Legion Rainbow Post No. 2.

There was a Masonic service at 5:30 P.M. Sunday conducted by Excelsior Lodge #259.

Memorials may be offered to the Nebraska Masonic Home.
