Anna K. Schnepel

The funeral for Anna K. Schnepel, 91, of Council Bluffs will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 400 Cloverdale Drive, with the Rev. Tony Paff officiating.

Mrs. Schnepel died Feb. 16 at Indian Hills Nursing Home.

She was born July 22, 1911, in Avoca to Hartwig and Christin (Godbersen) Petersen. She lived in Minden for 43 years. She was a farmer's wife for 43 years before moving to Council Bluffs in 1974. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Schnepel was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J., in 1992, a daughter, Kathryn Vogt, and a son, Rudolph R. Schnepel.

Survivors include a daughter, Lou Ann Mauer, and husband, Robert, of Aurora, Colo.; a son, Gary Schnepel, and wife, Colleen, of Omaha; sister-in-law, Betty Petersen, of Butte, Mont.; brother-in-law, Kenneth Haas, of Audubon; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Burial will be in Minden Cemetery with a lunch following at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Memorials may be offered to St. John's United Church of Christ.
