AVOCA - The funeral for Jerry Johnson, 53, of Avoca will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with the Rev. Lou Hoger officiating.

Mr. Johnson died Feb. 12 at Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan. He previously lived in Elkhorn, moving to Avoca nine years ago. He was a 1966 graduate of Exira High School in Exira. He attended Buena Vista College for four yeras. He was an area sales specialist for Patriot Seed Co.

Mr. Johnson and his wife, Betty, were married 33 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Jon of Carroll and Jay and wife, Nancy, of Des Moines; mother, Myrtle Johnson, of Elkhorn; brother, Ron, and wife, Kim, of Atlantic.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Pauley-Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca. Burial will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Oakhill Cemetery in Brayton.
