Roberta J. Hall

Roberta J. Hall, age 80, of Neola, Iowa, passed away February 15, 2009, at the Hospice House in Omaha.

Roberta was born April 23, 1928, in Persia, Iowa to the late Arthur and Mildred (McLarnon) Ingwersen.

She graduated valedictorian from Persia High School in 1945 and attended Van Sants School of Business in Omaha. Roberta married Traverse Hall on April 15, 1950, in Omaha. To this union five children were born. Roberta was a homemaker and community volunteer. She was a member of Neola Presbyterian Church, Neola Presbyterian Women, Missouri River Valley Presbytery Committee. Roberta was a 4-H leader for 35 years and was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame in 2007. She was a member of the Neola American Legion Post #330 Auxiliary, Eastern Star, where she was the organist. Roberta volunteered many hours for the American Red Cross, Alzheimer's Association and the Neola Food Pantry. She was a presenter of Native American culture at various schools.

Roberta is survived by her husband of 58 years, Traverse Hall of Neola; sons, Rob Hall and wife Liz of Harlan, Iowa, Roger Hall and wife Jennifer of Neola; daughters, Nancy Pettit and husband Michael of Neola, Reverend Peggy Hall of Omaha, Rachel Eikenberry and husband Mike of Neola; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Agee of Burkburnett, Texas.

Visitation with the family, Wednesday, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Neola Presbyterian Church. Funeral service, Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Dean Sparr, Pastor officiating.

Interment Neola Township Cemetery. A lunch will follow at St. Patrick's Parish Hall.

Memorials are suggested to Neola Presbyterian Church, T-C Dollars for Scholars, Neola Area Community Center and Neola Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
