Frances L. Bracker

Frances L. Bracker, age 87, of Council Bluffs, passed away January 19, 2009, at Bethany Lutheran Home.

Frances was born March 30, 1921, in Underwood, Iowa to the late Carl and Esther (Bondo) Magnussen.

She graduated from Underwood High School and attended Teachers College in Cedar Falls for two years. Frances taught country school for four years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neola, Iowa, where she was the custodian for over 30 years; superintendent of Sunday School for 30 years and ran the food pantry.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bracker; sisters, Elvera Beam and Arlene Christiansen; brother, Donald Magnussen.

She is survived by her brother, Vern Magnussen and wife Dona of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family, Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Neola with Rev. Sara Jensen, Pastor officiating.

Interment St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. A lunch will follow in the parish hall.

Memorials to the church preferred.
