In Memory: Glen Price

Glen W. Price, 73, of Woodbine died June 16 at his home. He was born on January 16, 1927. He attended Boomer Township Country School near Honey Creek and then a country school near Minden.

He married Rosella Ruth Rasmussen on January 18, 1948 and the couple farmed southeast of Minden. In 1951, they moved to a farm south of Persia and in 1959 they moved to a farm west of Woodbine. In 1967 they bought their farm southeast of Woodbine.

Besides farming, Glen was a 4H leader for nine years and vice president of Farm Bureau. Glen also worked as a salesman for International Harvestor in Dunlap, then for International Dealers in Missouri Valley. From 1985 to 1987 he worked for the FDIC appraising farm machinery, livestock and portable buildings. In 1988, he started driving for Crusader Coach Lines in Logan. He retired in 1995.

He was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Price and a grandson, Justin Miles Perkins.

Survivors, in addition to his wife include two sons, Daniel and wife, Linda, of Lauri, Missouri and Donald of Denison; four daughters, Jacki Olson and husband, Les, of Woodbine; Nancy McDaniel of Fremont, California; Kayleen Chase and husband, Jon, of Woodbine and Carolyn Ducuir and husband, Harold, of Essex; two sisters, Elsie Floerchinger of Des Moines and Marge Hunt and husband, Charles, of Macedonia, 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Services were conducted at the First United Methodist Church in Woodbine with the Rev. Lavina Shoffner officiating. Burial was in the Grange Cemetery near. Honey Creek.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday at Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine.
