In Memory: George Yochum
(January 20, 1929 - June 7, 2000)

Funeral for George N. Yochum, 71, of Council Bluffs was held Saturday at 10 A.M. at Cutler Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Arnpriester, pastor of Broadway United Methodist Church, officiating.

Mr. Yochum died June 7 at his home.

He was born in Persia and moved to Council Bluffs in 1941. He was a section laborer for Burlington Northern Railroad and retired in 1976 after 30 years working for various railroads.

Mr. Yochum and his wife, Marjorie A. (Horrod), were married April 5, 1946.

Survivors in addition to his wife include six daughters, Judith D. Kosack and husband, Eddie, of Defiance, Debra K. Start and husband, Jerry, Peggy J. Martin and husband, Don, Susan R. Adkisson and husband, Rich, Rebecca A. Rablin and husband, Terry, and Lori D. Cornelison and husband, Marlo, all of Council Bluffs; two sons, Nicholas L. and wife, Debra, and George P. and wife, Staci, all of Council Bluffs; three sisters, Bonnie DeSantiago and husband, Sipriano, Janice Mendoza and husband, Jess, and Sandra Sue DeSantiago and husband, Manuel, all of Council Bluffs; a brother, Orville E. Jr., and wife, Jackie, of Council Bluffs; 29 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held at the funeral home. Burial was in the Garner Township Cemetery.
