In Memory: Maxine M. Turks

Maxine M. Tiarks, 91, of Council Bluffs died April 30 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

She was born January 24, 1910 in Council Bluffs to W. Roy and Gertrude (Davis) McCart, and graduated from Treynor High School in 1928.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 328 at Quick and served as secretary for 27 years, retiring at age 90.

Her husband, John H. died on July 3, 1985.

Mrs. Tiarks is survived by a son, Roy H. and his wife Janet of Council Bluffs; a sister, Geraldine McCart of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

An Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 328 service was to be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, followed by visitation with the family.

The funeral was to be Thursday at 11 A.M. at the church with the Rev. Anthony Paff officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the church.
