Karen Slaughter

The funeral for Karen Slaughter, 62, formerly of Council Bluffs, will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Community of Christ Church Riverside Congregation, 2828 Ave. G., with Elder Tom Arnold officiating.

Mrs. Slaughter died Feb. 5 in Missouri Valley.

She was born March 23, 1940, in Summersville, Mo., to Glen Harsin and Doris Young. She was a secretary for insurance agent Linda Primmer. She was a member of RLDS Church, which is now called Community of Christ Riverside Congregation.

Mrs. Slaughter was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford L., on Jan. 27. They were married 42 years. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Harsin.

Survivors include one daughter, Suzi Link, and husband, Dean, of Kiowa, Colo.; two sons, David of Council Bluffs and Jeff and wife, Michelle, of Glenwood; two sisters, Margaret Burkey and husband, Eldon, of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Joyce Cross and husband, Bill, of Billings, Mont.; two brothers, Gary Harsin and wife, Jeanie, of Loveland, Colo., and Dale Harsin and wife, Jackie, of Alma, Neb.; grandchildren, Mallory and Logan Link and Amanda and Ashley Slaughter.

Visitation with the family will be tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lewis Township Cemetery.
