Clarence Edward Kellar, 89, formerly of Council Bluffs, died Feb. 3 in Papillion, Neb.
He was born Dec. 14, 1913, in Gravity to Lorenzo and Anna E. (McKay) Kellar. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He owned and operated Sally Ann Bakery at 21st and Broadway, and then owned Smith Machine Shop at 13th and Second Avenue. He then worked for Katelman Foundry. He was a 50-plus year member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Kellar was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice (Fouser) in 1998; sister Pearl Harris; and brothers, Albert, Glen and Giles.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Ruth McMains and husband, Dudley, of Altus, Okla., and Elaine Smith and husband, Homer, of Omaha; one son, Edward, and wife, Sue, of Council Bluffs; one sister, Lois Whisler, of Council Bluffs; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 26th and Avenue A, followed by a luncheon at the church. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 2.
Memorials may be offered to First Church of the Nazarene.
