Alfred Darrington, 84, 224 McGee Avenue, a pioneer farm resident of the Boomer Township area died Wednesday at a local hospital after an illness of two years. Born at Willard, Utah, he was engaged in farming in the Boomer township for 40 years before his retirement. Mr. Darrington, a resident of Council Bluffs for 17 years was a member of the RLDS Church. Survivors include: Widow Bertha; three daughters Mrs. Florence Rasmussen and Mrs. Ione Cochran, both of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Elva Maxey of Omaha, two sons A.W. of Underwood and O.A. of Persia; three brothers, George of Missouri Valley and Herbert and Nate, both of Council Bluffs; two sisters Mrs. C. L. Thomas of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. William Powell of Gregory, S.D.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Meyer Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ruch of the RLDS Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Grange Cemetery.
