Bertha Jane Darrington: Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha J. Darrington, 89, 2206 Raymond Avenue will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday (1964) at the Meyer Chapel. The Rev. Victor J. Witte, pastor of the RLDS Church will officiate. Interment will be at Grange Cemetery. Mrs. Darrington died Saturday night at a Missouri Valley rest home where she was a patient two weeks. She was the widow of Alfred Darrington who died in September of 1955.
Mrs. Darrington was born at Underwood. She and her husband resided 51 years on the same Boomer Township farm until their retirement in 1938, when they moved to Council Bluffs. She was a member of the RLDS Church. Survivors Include: Two sons, Alma W. of Underwood and Orving A. of Council Bluffs, three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Florence V.) Rasmussen and Mrs. Elva Maxeym both of Omaha and Mrs. John (Ione) Cochran of Council Bluffs. Three brothers, Dr. Amos Carlile of Manning, E. A. Carlile of Council Bluffs and David Carlile of Underwood; sister Mrs. T. C. Sewing of Council Bluffs; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
