Florence Turk

The funeral for Florence Turk, 64, of Council Bluffs will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Delwayne Hahn officiating, followed by a luncheon at the fellowship hall.

Mrs. Turk died Feb. 1 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born Nov. 17, 1938, in St. George, Newfoundland, Canada, to Adolph and Cecily (Laney) Simon. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1964. She was a cook for the "30 Club" for eight years, retiring in 1988. She received her U.S. Citizenship in 1998.

Mrs. Turk and her husband, Francis Dale, were married May 2, 1965.

Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters, Jackie Nuzum and husband, Randy, of Sioux Center, Dawn Turk of Council Bluffs and Michelle Schaffer and husband, Matt, of Omaha; two sons, Brian Turk and special friend, Laura McCoin, of Council Bluffs and Phil Turk of Council Bluffs; one sister, Mary "Beta" Chappel and husband, WIllis, of Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and brothers and sisters living in Canada.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Cortege will leave Our Savior's Lutheran at 1 p.m. for burial in Shelby Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the family.
