John Edward Samms
(May 17, 1894 - March 31, 1942)

John E. Samms, 46, 1219 Fourth Avenue, died Tuesday night at the Veteran’s hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held at Tyler’s funeral home Friday at 2 pm with the Rev. V. V. Bloomquist officiating. Burial will be in the Belknap township cemetery with American Legion services at the grave.

Survivors are the wife, Minnie, three sons: Neal and Martin both of Portland, Oregon, and Lawrence of Council bluffs; a daughter, Nona of Council Bluffs, a step-son, Rodney, James of Portland Oregon, his mother, Mrs. Alice Samms, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Jean, both of council Bluffs.

Tyler’s funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
