Jesse Newton Leslie
(June 3, 1882 - July 3, 1942)

ATLANTIC--Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Avoca Lutheran church for Jess N. Leslie, 60, a resident of here for the past two years, who died here Friday morning after having been in failing health for about three years. The Rev. Joseph Gerlt will officiate and burial will be in the Avoca cemetery.

He is survived by five children: Mrs. Katherine Shiffer of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Frances Sampson of Atlantic, Ernest Leslie of Oakland and Earl P. and Richard D. Leslie, who are in active service with the navy, six brothers: Joe Leslie of Council Bluffs, Edward of South Gate, California, Frank of Glasgo, Montana, Charles, George and Daniel of Avoca and five grandchildren.
