Mrs. Hans Henningsen 1858-1944

Funeral services for Mrs. Hans Henningsen, 86, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louie Plautz, Thursday were held from the first Lutheran church Sunday, March 11 at 2 pm with the Rev Joseph Gerlt in charge of the services.

Mrs. Henningsen was born December 23, 1858, the daughter of Max Maxsen and his wife Anna Mollingsen in Schlewig Holstein, Germany. She was married to Hans Henningsen on August 17, 1877.

Seven years later Mr. and Mrs. Henningsen together with two of their children and other friends came to the United States arriving in Avoca on April 13, 1884.

For many years, Mr. and Mrs. Henningsen farmed 5.5 miles southwest of Avoca moving to town in 1918.

Mrs. Henningsen leaves to mourn her seven children, her husband preceding her in death in 1920; Mrs. Henry Russmann of Avoca; Mrs. George Berge of Avoca; Mrs. Louie Plautz of Avoca; Mrs. Nicolai of Omaha; Hans William of Atlantic. Also three sisters: Anna Ingwersen of Avoca; Mrs. Charles Hoeck of Atlantic and Mrs. Meta Eggerss of Deloit. One daughter, a brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
