Mrs. Peter (Elizabeth) Mark 1857-1945

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth C. Mark, 87, were held from the English Lutheran church in Avoca at 2 pm Tuesday May 15 with the Rev Thorvald Hansen officiating. Mrs. Mark died at her home here Sunday, May 13 (1945), following a long illness.

Elizabeth Caroline Mark was born at Lumby, Denmark on November 7, 1857 and died at her home in Avoca at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and six days.

In 1877, she was united in marriage to Peter mark and to this union eight children were born, two having died in infancy. In 1882, they came to America, coming direct to Avoca which has been her home since that time.

Mr. Mark preceded his wife in death on October 3, 1941. She leaves to mourn her passing six children. Mrs. Mollie Johnson of Shelby; Mrs. Hilda Blust of Wisner, Nebraska; Carl Mark of Omaha, Nebraska; Fred mark of Avoca; Peter Mark of Wilbur, Washington; Mrs. Lena Julius of Cincinnati, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a large number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
