Joseph Adam Wasser 1872-1945

Funeral services for Joe A. Wasser, 72, were held at the Blust Bros. funeral home Sunday, April 8 at 2 pm with the Rev. Joseph Gerlt officiating.

Joseph Adam Wasser, son of Jacob Wasser and his wife Mary Steele was born in Pleasant township on June 16, 1872 on a farm about one mile west of Avoca and died at his home in Avoca , Thursday April 5, having reached the age of 72 years, 9 months, and 19 days.

In early infancy he moved with his parents to Minden where they remained until he was 15 years old; then they returned to Avoca and Mr. Wasser remained here the rest of his life.

Om May 31, 1922 he was married to Anna Sundell who with two children, a daughter JoAnn and a son Dean survive him. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Chris Hinz and Mrs. P.W. Hinz of Avoca and Mrs. Noah Whitsitt of Oakland; two brothers, Charles and Will of Avoca.

One sister, Mary and a daughter, Norma Jean, preceded him in death.
