Henry Brammann 1867-1944

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 27, at the Blust Funeral Home for Henry Brammann, who passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 23. Interment was at the Graceland cemetery.

Henry Brammann was born in Holstein, Germany, on April 3, 1867, the son of Margeretha and Peter Brammann. At the age of seventeen he came to the United States and resided in Omaha with relatives. He engaged in the carpentry trade working from Wayne, Nebraska to Davenport, Iowa.

In 1891, he came to the Avoca community where on March 17, 1894 he was united in marriage to Louise Hein. For the past forty three years, Mr. and Mrs. Brammann have lived at their late abode. Mr. Brammann retired from active engagement of his trade fifteen years ago, but remained in active health until his death.

Mr. Brammann is survived by his wife, six daughters and seven sons; Mary (Mrs. Hans Harder of Avoca), Peter Brammann of Lander, Wyoming, Rudolph Brammann of May, Washington, Carl Brammann of Omaha; Gertrude (Mrs. Murray Randall of Avoca), Henry Brammann of Los Angeles, California; Walter Brammann of Avoca, Dorothy (Mrs. Elmer Holtz of Avoca), Edna (Mrs. E. H. Johnson of Tyler, Texas), Della (Mrs. Glen Strittmatter of Waukegan, Illinois), Elsie (Mrs. Louie Kline of Omaha), Richard, a Prisoner of War in Germany, and Harry, somewhere in the Pacific.

Two daughters preceded their father in death, one in infancy and Ella, Mrs. Jack Sieck, about a month ago.

Besides thirty-one grandchildren and three great grandchildren, there is a brother and sister in Germany.
