Leonard M. Brown
(April 2, 1896 - August 5, 1944)

Leonard M. Brown, 48, 3501 Seventh Avenue, died Saturday at the Veteran’s hospital in Lincoln after a prolonged illness. Brown had been a resident of Council Bluffs 15 years and served as a corporal in the 47th company of the 20th engineers in World War I.

He is survived by four daughters; Bernice Flowers of Lamoni, Letha Brown of Des Moines, Lois and Susan Brown of Englewood, Colorado; three sons; Leonard Brown of Redmond, Oregon, Wilfred of Persia, and Burton of Avoca; one brother, Acel Brown of Redmond, Oregon; six sisters: Sylvia Waggoner of Redmond, Oregon, Irma Morris of Portland, Oregon, Grace Owens of Cody, Wyoming,Olive Shelton of Sunshine, Wyoming, Leona Whitman of Meeteesee,Wyoming, and Almena of Evanston, Wyoming.

The body will lie in state at the Beem-Belford funeral home until the hour of the service, Wednesday at 9 am at the Belford chapel. Elder Charles Putman of the Reorganized L.D.S Church will officiate. Burial will be in Quincy.
