Avoca—Funeral services for Peter Sanders, 77, who died at a Council Bluffs hospital Monday after a prolonged illness were held at the Silver Creek church Wednesday at 2 pm with the Rev. Mr. Schlesselman officiating.

Saunders, a native of Russem, Germany, came to America when he was 19. He married Miss Minnie Schnackel and they actively engaged in farming west of Avoca for almost 50 years, then retired to a home in Avoca.

Sanders is survived by his widow, a son, Earnest F. of Avoca, and five daughters: Mrs. Homer Schew of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Bernie Schew of Hancock, Mrs. Frank Burkebile, and Mrs. Claud Lowe of Oakland and Mrs. Ed Schroeder of Avoca.
