August Turk

August Turk, 75, of Shelby, died at 1:30 am Wednesday at a local hospital, having been ill for one week. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving him are his widow, Bertha, nine sons: Charles, Virgil, and Harry all of Shelby, Julius and John both of Guthrie Center, Walter of Redfield, George of Walnut, Arthur of Oakland and Edward, stationed in Texas with the United States Army; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Hesly and Mrs. Julius Stuhr of Minden.

The body is at the Tyler funeral home and will be taken to the home in Shelby on Friday, where it will lie in state until the hour of services. Time of the services is awaiting word from the son in the army.
