Mrs. Mae Nelson 1880-cira 1947

Services for Mrs. Fred Nelson, 67, were held from the Blust-Berthusen funeral home Sunday afternoon with burial in Graceland cemetery. Rev. A. J. Goodson, pastor of the congregational church, conducted the services.

Mrs. Mae Nelson was born on February 5, 1889 at Avoca, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Lee. She was the youngest of five children.

She received her education in the Avoca Public Schools and lived all her life in Pottawattamie county. She was on a farm until 1917 when she moved to Avoca.

Mrs. Nelson died at her home in Avoca, Thursday, October 2 following a long illness. She leaves to mourn her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Beacher Moore of Avoca; two grandsons, Raymond Moore of Harlan and Ted Moore of Shelby; two great grandchildren, Judith Ann and Terry Rae Moore; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

During the funeral services Mrs. Marion Christensen sang, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Going Home.” Mrs. Arnold Schmidt was the accompanist.
