Emma Giese 1903-circa 1949

Funeral services for Emma C. Giese, 46, who died at her home in Avoca Tuesday morning following a lingering illness; services will be held from the Blust-Berthusen funeral home at 2 pm Thursday. Miss Giese was found dead at her home Tuesday morning by her brother, Herman. The Rev. Joseph Gerlt will officiate and burial will be in Graceland cemetery.

Miss Giese, a daughter of Gustav Giese was born June 25, 1903 in Pleasant township, Pottawattamie county, and has lived in this community all of her life.

Her mother preceded her in death January 9 of this year.

Survivors include three sisters: Helen Giese of Avoca; Mrs. Charles Albertus of Shelby, and Mrs. Harry dose of Harlan; and three brothers: William and Herman of Avoca and Carl of Marne.
