Rites held Here Tuesday

Last rites for Hans Frederich Neve, 87, were held from the Blust Berthusen funeral home in Avoca Tuesday, November 15 (1949) with the Rev. Joseph Gerlt conducting the services. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.

Mr. Neve died in an Iowa City hospital last Saturday following a long illness.

Hans Frederick Neve, son of Ludwig Neve and his wife Maria Holtz, was born in Schleswig Holstein, Germany on July 4, 1862. He came to this country at the age of 18 and worked as a day laborer in and around this community. He lived in Avoca for the past 28 years. He is survived by a brother, Henry Neve of Avoca. Hans was never married. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary; four brothers: Ludwig, Nic, Claus, and John.
