Robert Boyd Hart 1886-1932
Given Military Funeral

Escorted by a squad of World War veterans, the flag-enshrouded casket bearing the body of Robert Boyd Hart, was lowered in its final resting place Wednesday afternoon, June 15th. A three-fold salute was fired over his grave and his comrades stood at attention as taps were sounded.

“Bob” Hart was born at McCoysville, Pa., November 8, 1886. In 1908, he married Della Bryner, who died September 2, 1909, leaving an infant daughter, Helen, in his care. Shortly after this, Bob moved to the vicinity of Avoca where he has spent the greater part of the past 22 years. Sept 4, 1920, he was married to Edith Knoerer, of Milwaukee, to which union a daughter, Ruth, was born.

About two and a half years ago, Mr. Hart was injured in an automobile accident; from which he never fully recovered, suffering from various ailments until Sunday, June 12th, at 9:20 pm when his heart gave and he passed into the great beyond, his age being 45 years, 7 months, and 4 days.

Besides his wife and two daughters, Helen and Ruth, he is survived by his mother living in Pennsylvania; a sister, Mrs. H. I. Mountain of San Pedro, California, other relatives and many friends.

It was on July 26th, 1918, that Bob was enrolled in the US Army and spent some time overseas. His honorable discharge was dated Feb 10, 1919 at Camp Dodge. Funeral services took place from the English Lutheran church of Avoca with Rev C. A. Nelson officiating with interment at Graceland Cemetery.
