Mrs. E. W. Frahm 1928-1952

Mrs. Alma Petersen Frahm, wife of E. W. Frahm, died at the hospital at manning, Iowa, Friday, June 28, aged 24 years, following childbirth. The funeral was held Monday at manning from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Petersen, and was one of the largest attended funerals ever held in that city.

Alma Petersen was born at Clinton, Iowa. When three years old her parents, moved to Westside, Iowa, where they lived until a few years ago when they moved to Manning.

On June 8, 1928, she was united in marriage to E. W. Frahm of Avoca. Mr. Frahm came to Avoca from Manning about 18 months ago and purchased the Blust Hardware and Furniture store. He also purchased a home and fitted it up for his bride where they began housekeeping and spent a happy year, the culmination of which was expected to be filled with the joys of their first born. The little daughter was born only a few hours before the mother’s death and weighed but three and one half pounds. At this time the little one is getting along nicely.

Mrs. Frahm was a young lady of very pleasing personality, one who took great interest and pride in her home and made many warm friends during her short residence among us. Her unexpected death is a severe blow to her husband and friends. Nearly 30 of her Avoca friends and neighbors went to Manning Monday to attend the funeral services.

Mr. Frahm has the deepest sympathy of the entire community in his sad hour and the wish that the little girl may live and grow up and help to fill the place in the heart of the father, left vacant by the death of the mother.

Among those from Avoca who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bunnell, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olesen, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Crann, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Niemann, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. William Eggers Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Olsen, Alfred Bunnell, Fred Piittmann, William Peters, Hans Henningsen, Carl Olsen, Joe Turner, Nobert Blust, Chris Olsesen, Dr. E. C. Wolff, Clarence Rock, harry how, Jr., Ed harris, Fred Stude, and John Sondergaard Jr. There may have been others whose names we did not learn.
