Mrs. Lina Deming (1865-1949)

Lina Deming, daughter of Clark Pierce and his wife, Mary Ellen Brown, was born in Carson township, Pottawattamie county, Iowa, on May 2, 1865, and died in a convalescent home in Council Bluffs Thursday noon, August 4, 1949, at the age of 84 years, three months and two days.

She was married to George M. Deming on December 11, 1887, and resided in their home in Avoca on the south side, which was their home to the present. Her husband died 27 years ago.

She is survived by 3 brothers: Charles, Joseph, and Erwin all of Council Bluffs. A number of nieces and nephews as well as many near relatives and friends are left to mourn her passing.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Blust-Berthusen funeral home with Rev. Joseph Gerlt officiating. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.
