LAST RITES FOR CHRIS KRUMMEL (1896-1948)

Funeral services for Chris Krummel, 53, were held from the First Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon with the Joseph Gerlt in charge of the services. Burial was in Graceland cemetery. Mr. Krummel died suddenly at his home in Avoca early last Monday morning following a heart attack.

Christian Krummel, the first born son of John Krummel and his wife, Minnie Berge, was born on a farm southwest of Avoca on December 20, 1896. He lived on the farm with his folks and worked on farms until he was married. On April 4, 1917, he was married to Wilhelmina Ronnfeldt and they started farming. They farmed in this vicinity until they bought their present home in Avoca five years ago.

Mr. Krummel is survived by his wife and mother; two daughters: Mrs. Woodrow Rogers and Mrs. Harold Hansen of Avoca; two sons: Roderick and Jack of Avoca; eight grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Carl Krieger, Mrs. Alfred Schaaf and Mrs. Carl Wendt all of Avoca; three brothers: Rhinhardt, William and Alfred of Avoca.

He was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister.
