72, Dies at Avoca Home

Avoca, Ia. Jan 27—Gustaf Diederich, 72, died this evening at his home while listening to the radio. A native of Davenport, Iowa, Mr. Diederich came to Avoca when 2 years old with his parents. He operated for many years a mercantile establishment founded by his father. He had not been active since suffering a paralytic stroke six years ago.

He and Mrs. Diederich celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last September. Only survivor besides the widow is a brother, Frank of Omaha.

Gus Diederich is the only man in Iowa who belongs to the Girl’s 4-H Club. He is an honorary member of the society and was labeled with the blue card as best “Dad” of them all. Note that ‘smile” as broad as the Botna.
