ROBERT WILLIAM ROCKWELL 1865-1934

Robert William Rockwell was born October 15, 1865, and passed away at his home in Walnut, Friday, July 6, 1935, at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 21 days, of a lingering illness extending over a year’s time. His daughter, Blanche, had been caring for him the last six weeks and his son, Dominick, was at his bedside during the last two weeks.

He was united in marriage to Dora Mae Scandrett on March 20, 1889. To this union four children were born, Josephine, who passed away in infancy; Mrs. Blanche Lamer of Eagle Grove, Iowa; Dominick Rockwell of Fargo, North Dakota, and Russell Rockwell of San Jose, California, whom was unable to be here.

His wife preceded him in death December 18, 1908. Besides his children he leaves nine grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his loss.

He was a kind and loving husband and father and was loved by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Congregational Church at Avoca, with the Rev. Earl E. Remaly officiating. Interment was made in the Avoca cemetery.

The pall bearers were Charley bees, John R. Griffith, Tom McDemott, William Myers, Fank Robinson, and Henry Koll.
