WILBUR KRISTENSEN 1871-1929
Wilbur Kristensen died at his home at Avoca, Friday, May 10, after a lingering illness, aged 58 years and 13 days. The funeral services were held Sunday, May 12, (1929).

Wilbur Kristensen was born, April 28, 1871 in Sweden. He came to America when 14 years of age and went to Omaha where he lived with a brother for a short time after which he went to work on a farm near Minden, Iowa. By hard work he soon became accustomed to the ways of his adopted country. He continued working on the farm and in 1897 was married. Eleven years later his wife passed away. In 1912 he was married to Miss Etta Andress. To this union two daughters were born, Avis, 14, and Thelma, 12.

Mr. Kristensen underwent an operation about four years ago but never fully recovered and last fall it was necessary for him to have another operation. His health has declined rapidly since then. After returning from the hospital he had a farm sale and moved to Avoca. His health failed steadily until at last death relieved him of his suffering last Friday.

Wilbur Kristensen was a man who loved his home, his family, and his neighbors. Always kind and considerate, he never failed to assist a neighbor in sickness or distress. He never complained during his long tedious illness, he fully realized that all that kind and loving hand could do, would not cure him, trying to help those who cared for him in every way he could. He was a man of fine moral character and a good neighbor, loving husband and father, his friends were many.

The bereaved family has the sympathy of the community.
